International Women's Club Charity Bazaar

The International Women's Club Charity Bazaar 2008 was held on Sunday morning on 30 November. The Embassy participated with an Indonesian stall decorated attractively with exotic Indonesian decoration. Traditional music gamelan Sunda and angklung from the Western Java province of Indonesia is playing softly in the background. Mrs. Fely Rose Inkiriwang and the ladies and staff of the Embassy tirelessly serving the visitors of the bazaar who were attracted by delicious Indonesian culinary and Indonesian art craft, batik textile products and other traditional Indonesian products displayed on the Indonesian stall since the start of the Bazaar. Ambassador Inkiriwang joined them and encouraged several Ambassadors to visit the Indonesian stall and bought some of the displayed products.

The Pesona Mawar Nusantara (Enchanting Roses of the Archipelago) dance group performed two Indonesian dances, Lenggang Nyai and Puspita on the opening ceremony. Chairperson of the International Women's Club (IWC), Mrs. Vanessa Chatel Kemp, officially opened the Bazaar. The opening ceremony was also attended by Bulgarian gold medalist, Mrs. Rumyana Neykova who won a gold medal in Women Single Rowing in the Beijing Olympic in 2008.

Economy Business Finance (EBF) Ikonomiya TV covered the Indonesian stall crowded by interested visitors and used the opportunity to interview Ambassador Inkiriwang. Another TV station, TV2, looked interested in the Indonesian food and asked one of the staff of the Embassy on how to cook one of the delicacies offered in the Indonesian stall. TV2 also made a short interview with one member of the Pesona Mawar Nusantara.

The Chairperson of the IWC expressed her appreciation for the Embassy's participation in this year's Bazaar. She added that this year's Bazaar occupied  a larger hall than in the previous year and was the largest and the most successful IWC Bazaar. All the profits in the Bazaar were channeled to the social and charity activities organized or in affiliation with the IWC.
