Indonesia takes over the chairmanship of ASEAN’s CPR

Indonesia’s Permanent Representative to ASEAN Ambassador I Gede Ngurah Swajaya received the chairmanship of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) on Wednesday in Jakarta from Vietnamese counterpart Vu Dang Dung.

The handing over ceremony was held at the ASEAN Secretariat on Wednesday.

Indonesia formally took the leadership of the CPR but the chairmanship of the 10-member organization will take effect fromm Jan. 1, 2011.

“It was a successful year in which Vietnam led ASEAN to move toward the goal of achieving an ASEAN Community in 2015,” Ambassador Vu said.
