Ministry suggests three cultural heritages to UNESCO

The Culture and Tourism Ministry will submit three Indonesian cultural heritages to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 2011 as nominees for official recognition as world cultural heritages.

"The three Indonesian cultural heritages are a Balinese traditional dance, a Papuan traditional bag called noken and the Indonesia Miniature Park (TMII)," Culture and Tourism Ministry Director of Research and Cultural Development Harry Waluyo said as quoted by the Antara news service.

He added that the ministry was in the process of submitting the required applications by the March 31, 2011, deadline.
