Indonesia promotes marine tourism to Moscow

Indonesia is currently taking part in the Golden Dolphin international marine tourism exhibition in Moscow, Russia, in efforts to promote the tourism value of Indonesia's seas and beaches. 

“In future I hope more entrepreneurs from various areas [in Indonesia] take part in these types of exhibitions,” said M. Aji Surya, an official at the Indonesian embassy in Moscow.

The embassy, in addition to the Culture and Tourism Ministry, facilitated six Indonesian tourism agencies to take part in the exhibition, held from Feb. 17 to 20.

The Indonesian participants are Tasik Ria Resort and Tasik Divers Manado, Lembeh Hills Resort, Kungkungan Bay Resort, Tasik Divers Bali, Sekar Nusa Villas and Minahasa Lagoon resort.

According to records at the Indonesian Embassy in Moscow, 66,839 Russian tourists visited Indonesia in 2009. This figure jumped 15 percent to 79,100 in 2010.
