Finance Minister Sri Mulyani said Tuesday that the 4 percent economic
growth in the second quarter of this year as announced by the Central
Statistic Agency was above government expectations.
"We only expected the economy to grow 3.7 percent," she said.
Sri Mulyani attributed the better-than-expected growth to the strong
domestic consumption.
"But we must be careful because our growth is still low," she added.
Indonesia is one of the countries in Asia, along with China and India,
whose growth remains positive despite the global economic crisis.
