President expresses appreciation to police

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono expressed his appreciation to the
police on Saturday following their operations to arrest terrorist
suspects in the past two days.
He expressed the appreciation at a press conference at the palace in
response to the raids held in several places by the police with regard
to catching terrorist suspects.
"On behalf of the state, the government and the people I thanked and
gave my high appreciation to the police for their success in
implementing their duty," he said.
The President also thanked all parties including the communtiy that had
synergized with the police so that the operations were successful.
He made the conference after receiving national police chief General
Bambang
Hendarso Danuri who came to report about the operations to him.
A man believed to be terrorist suspect Noording M Top wanted by the
police so far was killed during a raid in a house in Beji, Temanggung,
Central Java, early on Saturday, after the police besieged the hiding
place since 4pm on Friday.
Noordin`s body was now kept at the police hospital in Kramatjati, East
Jakarta, for an autopsy and identification.
The police would not as yet confirm if the body was really of Noordin M
Top pending the results of a DNA test to be done soon.
The police early on Saturday morning also raided a house in Jatiasih,
Bekasi, in which two terrorist suspects were killed namely Air Setiawan
and Eko Joko Supriyanto.
The two believed to be involved in several terrorist actions in several
places including the bombings of two luxury hotels in Jakarta
recently.(*)
