RI expresses condolences over death of Corazon Aquino

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono offered condolences to the people of the Philippines on Saturday over the death of former president Corazon C. Aquino, an official says.

Presidential spokesman Dino Patti Djalal said Yudhoyono, on behalf of the Indonesian government and people, shared the bereavement of the Philippine people, who lost their icon of democracy.

“Ibu Corazon C. Aquino is widely admired in Indonesia and we would like to express our deepest sympathy to the Philippine people over her passing away,” Dino said.

Dino said Aquino would be always remembered as a heroine who dared to fight for democracy and justice in the Philippines.
