RI may export fertilizer by end of year

The government said Monday it may export fertilizer by the end of this year due to a domestic oversupply.

"Yes, I hope we can export by the end of this year," Trade Minister Mari Elka Pangestu said Monday as quoted by Kompas.com.

Agriculture Minister Anton Apriyantono said that the amount of exported fertilizer could reach 500,000 tons.

"This export must be calculated accurately so that we will not face a lack of fertilizer when we need it in the planting season," he said.
