The Minister of Foreign Affairs Hassan Wirajuda met with Dutch counterpart Maxime Verhagen to finalize a draft agreement covering various issues at the Foreign Affairs Ministry Jakarta on Wednesday.

Verhagen said the Dutch government was pleased with the Indonesian-sponsored draft Comprehensive Partnership Agreement (CPA), an initiative aimed at expanding cooperation and enhancing ties between the two countries.

“We hoped that more positive steps such as this will be taken in the future,” Verhagen said.

Apart from the CPA, Wednesday’s conference had also dealt with a range of domestic, bilateral, and domestic issues, such as the development and judicial cooperation, climate change and the growth of ASEAN and EU.

The two ministers had also discussed the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip and called for an immediate ceasefire. (emh)
