Indonesia overall champion of world competition of young scientists

            Indonesian young scientists presented themselves brilliantly at world level securing the greatest number of old medals among their colleagues from Germany, the Netherlands, the United States, Russia, Hongary, and Poland. "We are proud that Indonesia became overall chamption at the 16th International Conference of Young Scientists (ICYS) in Pszczyna, Poland, April 24-28, 2009, head of the information, social and cultural affairs division of the Indonesian embassy in Warsaw Any Muryani said in a press release to Antara in Jakarta Thursday.

Head of the Indonesian delegation to the ICYS Monika Raharti said earlier that the Indonesian youngsters won all the 10 research projects for which they received 10 medals, consisting of six gold, one silver, and three bronze medals.  According to the organizing committee, Indonesia won 6 gold, one silver and 3 bronze medals, Germany (3,4,2), the Netherlands (3,1,2), the United States (3,0,0), Russia (2,3,3), Hungary (2,2,2), and Poland (2,2,1). The others are Belarus (1,1,0), Georgia (0,3,2), Ukraine (0,1,2), Czeck republic (0,0,2), and Croatia (0,0,1).
